Karma Yoga Retreat

Enjoy a week of spiritual growth and healing with Nese Pelt as your guide.

We are all magicians, but have just forgotten how to fully access our magic. Our magic wand has been broken by our culture, religion,

family, education and beliefs and fears. In this Karma Yoga Retreat we will learn how to

find again and use our magical wand to transform and awaken

fully to our inner, sometimes hidden, Truth.

                          *****

Our daily routine will be meditative, unfolding with a gentle flow, having freedom to choose what is best for us. We will plan our days together, in the moment.

Our delicious French breakfast of fruit, homemade jams and croissants, and freshly made yogurt, tea and coffee will delight your tastebuds. We’ll check in with each other at the breakfast table, sharing dreams and

taking time for satsang, listening to life philosophy, checking the Tarot Cards or Runes.

Each day presents many options including yoga movement, hiking, shopping for meals and cooking together. Visiting some special places, and attending a channeled healing session with a French medium, translated by Nese. She will

present many possibilities for fun and healing from her treasure chest.

                          *****

What is the meaning of Karma?

Karma is our life’s echo, in that what we send out comes back to us. Karma is about all that a person has done, is doing and will do. It makes a person responsible for her own life. It is the universal principle of cause and effect. Our actions come back to us in the future and help us learn from life’s lessons.

                          *******

What is the meaning of Yoga?

It is the union and connection with the body, soul and spirit. It’s a feeling of coming back home. The idea of yoga is much more than a

physical exercise. It has a meditative and spiritual core. It is being in the here and now,

in this moment, through the awareness of the breath.

Poppies and Pods

~A week at La Cascade, Dufort, France~

In this workshop we will be exploring and experimenting with several materials and techniques. Wool fleece/roving will be the foundation material we will use to create our sculpture, either wearable or not, using a series of ways to manipulate the fleece from wet felting to needle felting. Construction of units to follow, including mold making and casting parts….seeds, seedpods…out of a lightweight paper clay , painting and assembling to follow. Our final treatment will be to embellish the surface with seed beads and sequins to add texture and to catch light! This class is for all, to be enjoyed by all levels of previous accomplishment.

The workshop is perfectly timed to coincide with the poppies blooming in the south of France! Our time together will begin with an exploration of our natural surroundings and considering our inspiration source in this quaint copper vessel making village. The workshop will consist of 5 mornings of ‘formal’ instruction. Our afternoons will be spent taking in any number of potential outings from the Toulouse-Lautrec museum to surrounding medieval villages, museums and flea markets! The studio will be open 24/7.

La Cascade will be our charming residence. a 17th century house situated in the tiny medieval village of Dufort in southern France, so named for a waterfall with its welcome sounds located at the back of the house. We will be treated to exceptional food, prepared by the house chef, Nese, with the freshest of ingredients purchased locally from the long standing Revel market. Candlelight dinners are often held on a terrace overlooking the waterfall, sweet!

The workshop will include:

. Seven nights lodging at La Cascade, double occupancy

. Daily afternoon field trips

. All breakfasts and most lunches and dinners

. Workshop instruction and many supplies

Metal Repoussé and Print making!

Our project for this workshop is inspired by a Byzantine Icon style.

A Multimedia Workshop with Elitia Hart and Lynn Leahy

Using the ancient technique of embossing pewter (Metal Repoussé) combined with printmaking on paper you will immerse yourself in creativity. These techniques will combine on a wooden triptych to culminate in your own Byzantine “like” Icon.  You will have an opportunity to express your unique ideas, whether they are serious or light hearted and at the same time have fun in this mixed media workshop.

We are so excited to be heading back to La Cascade for another adventure in southern France! La Cascade is the perfect venue for us to explore our artistic expression in a large sky-lit studiounder the eaves of this 17th century house.

May 2019 is Spring time in France and we will let the beauty of our surroundings inspire us.

Elitia and I have collaborated on a number of teaching experiences. We always enjoy working at creating an instructive and memorable project that allows you to express yourself individually while using the techniques you will learn in the workshop. You will have a completed piece of artwork to take home and techniques to apply again and again in your own constructive fashion. Come join us for rose and poppy season in Southern France!

The workshop will include:

Seven nights lodging at La Cascade in Durfort, France.

Kelly Kilmer

Paris Can Wait! Kelly and Friends Go Creating:

An Immersive Art Adventure in Durfort, France

Travel sparks ideas and inspires new ways of seeing and making art. Having traveled back and forth across the  U.S.  last summer, I am eager for something different. When I discovered that there really is such a place as Montolieu or the Village of The Books http://www.nytimes.com/1997/08/24/travel/a-french-town-bound-to-books.html, this bibliophile and collage artist started making plans. I'd like very much for you to come along.

In this truly one of a kind workshop, we will let the local colors, flora, fauna and other daily discoveries of a medieval artisan village, Durfort in  Southern France,  be our guide.

We will begin our week by creating a hardcover journal from scratch. I love studio time, but I am also a big believer in learning from experience and being inspired by everything. So, we will take our art- making and inspiration beyond the inviting walls of  La Cascade and learn to capture the moment, gleaning ideas while on-the-go in beautiful Durfort.

Our time together in France will be translated into a finished journal that, along with the memories of our time in France, will inspire our art for the rest of our lives.

This will be an immersive experience like no other.

Before we travel, I will create a private Facebook group where we can get to know one another. I will also send lists of art, books, films, music and more that will prime you for our adventure.

Art, adventure, creativity, inspiration and new friendships await you in beautiful Southern France.

I hope you will join us.
